VILLORES
A CHARMING
SMALL TOWN
Villores is a small town located on a hillside near the river Bergantes, that borders with Forcall and Morella. Its main economical activity is based on agriculture and livestock and some of its buildings, such as Les Eres, show the essential role that the rural world has always played in Villores. One of the main attractions to discover in this town is the project ApiVillores. In the upper part of the town, this company has a beekeeping farm in which both locals and visitors are offered the possibility to discover the curious world of bees through guided tours. The town center is characterised by narrow and small streets. The most important element of their military architecture is the tower known as Torre del Castell, whose ruins remain next to the shrine of La nostra Senyora del Bon Succés. Regarding its architectural heritage, the Town Council, the manor house Casa Marquesal, and the parish church are truly a jewel. The most outstanding places in Villores are the mill el Molí de la Cova, the mountain of Sant Joan and the natural spring la Font del Bosc.
THE CASTLE
VILLORES
Castle and Ermita de Nª Senyora del Bon Succés: The Castle is a building that was apparently a fortified tower of Muslim origin. Next to it is the shrine.
Les Eres: A stepped complex of communal lands, or eres, with sheds for each era. They are kept in good conditions and it is still easy to imagine how it worked in the past.
Palau del Marqués de Villores: This palace is located on the town square and has a porch. It is currently the town council.
ANCIENT MILL IN VILLORES
Parish Church: From the 18th century and consecrated to both Saint John the Baptist and the Evangelist, it is a construction of Neo-Baroque style.
